Antonella Abbà
(POLIMI)

Antonella Abbà received a M.S. degree in aerospace engineering in 1987, a Post Graduate Diploma in Fluid Dynamics from the Von Karman Institure in 1988 and a Ph.D in aerospace engineering in 1993 at Politecnico di Milano. She is currently permanent researchers in Fluid Dynamics at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DAER) of Politecnico di Milano.

Her research activity focuses on modeling and numerical simulation of turbulent currents. Antonella has applied Large Eddy Simulation (LES) to study the interaction between turbulence and ice formation in ocean currents, developing a mathematical model for multiphase flows with variable density at low Mach number. Recently, her research has also been directed to compressible turbulent flows, developing a high-order discontinuous Galerkin solver, with polynomial  adaptivity and optimized for high-performance parallel computing.
