Inken Knop is the head of the working group for “Multiphase flow and icing” at the Institute of Fluid Mechanics at TU Braunschweig since May 2021. She supervises 6 research assistants in 6 different projects, ranging from ice-phobic foils for wind turbines to the development of an in-house icing code for the simulation of helicopter icing to basic ice crystal experiments. From 2015 to 2019 she was a Research associate and PhD student in the research group and did research on experimental investigation of icing of wind turbines and droplet cloud measurement techniques. She developed a new spray nozzle system for the Braunschweig Icing Wind Tunnel and carried out a full calibration of the multiphase flow according to SAE ARP 5905. In 2020 she became mother of a lively son and was on maternity leave until April 2021.
