Francesca Mondonico

(TUDA – POLIMI)

Francesca Mondonico was born in Monza in 1998. She studied at Politecnico di Milano, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from 2017 to 2020, when she graduated in Aerospace Engineering. She continued her education at the same university, completing a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering in 2023. Her studies were centered on fluid dynamics and aerodynamics, including courses and projects such as Rotor Aerodynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics. During her Master’s Thesis, Francesca conducted research on non-ideal supersonic flows in asymmetric nozzles, employing both experimental and numerical approaches with a particular emphasis on analyzing Schlieren images. At present, she is a MSCA PhD student at TRACES, focusing her research on the investigation of Heterogeneous nucleation in propagating supercooled drops bounded by walls.
