Francesco Caccia
(POLIMI)

Francesco Caccia is a  second year PhD student at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology at Politecnico di Milano. There, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2018 and master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 2021.

His research focuses on wind turbines in cold climates. In particular, he numerically investigates ice accretion on wind turbine blades: by developing new models to adapt in-flight ice accretion tools to the peculiar environment in which wind turbines operate, and by studying detailed aerodynamics of iced airfoils and blades for accurate performance prediction.
