It is a worldwide ranking of scientists with the highest level of scientific production, which is elaborated by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier and the database “Scopus”.

The ranking is elaborated from bibliometric data to analyze the quantity, quality and diffusion of publications in the scientific community. The analysis has been performed on 8.5 milion researchers from all over the world. Among these about 195 thousand scientists has been selected for their distinguishment in their field.
